🥅 Champions League Preview – Spotlight: Games
Galatasaray Istanbulvs.Juventus Turin
The play-offs are kicked off today in the cauldron of Istanbul. Galatasaray, being themselves the leader of the SüperLig, will enter the game high-flying. Juventus, The Old Lady, instead just had to suffer a disappointing defeat a couple of days ago against Inter. In particular for Kenan Yildiz, Juve’s Turkish superstar, this will be a special match.
👉 Similar to the bookmakers, the SFM has the odds in favor of Juventus.

Paris Saint-Germain
This clearly has to be called out: why, at this stage of the competition, does there have to be an elimination match between two teams that play within the same national league association? In the good old days when the Champions League was still a tournament rather than a league, there were mechanisms in place that prevented two teams of the same national league to face each other until the semi-finals!
Anyway, despite a staggering 20 points (!) separating Monaco and PSG in the Ligue 1, “the cup has its own laws” – each commentator’s favorite phrase desperately trying to talk some excitement into a first-stage DFB Pokal match between the fifth-league wild-card pick and Bayern München, only to see Harry Kane scoring three times within the first five minutes...
👉 The SFM sees the odds slightly in favor of PSG, while the betting odds are much more clearly tilted towards PSG.
📣 SFM Outlook: Monaco < PSG
Benfica Lisboavs.
Real Madrid
Another oddity of this new Champions League format: just two weeks ago, in the last match of the regular season, those very two teams, at the very same place – the Estadio da Luz – had already faced each other! Back then, Benfica sent The Royals back home with a stunning 4:2 win.
👉 This time the SFM has the odds tilted towards Real, mirroring the betting odds which also see a win for Real as the more likely outcome.
