🥅 Preview – Matches

And we start our trip in the country whose glorious anthem won’t be sounded in the stadiums across Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. this June and July ...

SSC Napolivs.AC Milan

The Serie A returns with a banger: third-placed Napoli hosts second-placed Milan.

At Pasquetta, the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona will be fully packed with a crowd of passionate Napolitains, creating a blistering atmosphere. For both teams this is the decisive match for maintaining the hopes of still overtaking the currently leading, though struggling with momentum, Internazionale Milano and lifting the Scudetto at the end of the season!

🤓 The home pitch factor is playing an important role here, making the SFM see a slight edge for the Partenopei.

Atletico Madridvs.FC Barcelona

Not less reverential do sound these two names: even if Barça is sitting 16 (!) points ahead of Atletico, it is once again in a tight race with Atletico’s archrival Real for the title. These two teams have undoubtedly delivered exciting performances in the past, and Atletico could, as awkward as it is, be Real’s kingmaker...

🤓 The SFM is here at a crossroads: the home pitch factor obviously tilts towards Atletico, yet the point-difference factor points towards Barça. The result is that forwards across both rosters are assigned similar median probabilities, yet Barça’s Robert Lewandowski is clearly standing out.

OSC Lillevs.RC Lens

We finish our road trip in France, where second-placed Lens has to travel to Lille, which is in a fierce run for those precious Champions League seats. Both teams share some similarities: both have won their last game, but neither can resort to a winning streak as of late.

🤓 The set up is almost a mirror image of the match in Madrid: the visitors stand 11 points above the home team, making the underlying drivers pull the prediction in different directions. Again, there is only one player standing out across the two rosters: Lille’s legend, Olivier Giroud.
